About Dean Martin
Dean Martin (born Dino Paul Crocetti; June 7, 1917 – December 25, 1995) was an American singer, actor, comedian, and television host. He is regarded as one of the most popular entertainers of the 20th century. Martin achieved early success in partnership with comedian Jerry Lewis as the duo Martin and Lewis, beginning in 1946. They performed in nightclubs and later appeared on radio, television, and in films. Following the end of their partnership in 1956, Martin pursued a solo career in entertainment. He established himself as a singer, recording both contemporary material and standards from the Great American Songbook, and became a prominent performer in Las Vegas. He was associated with entertainers such as Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., who, together with others, formed the Rat Pack. In 1965, Martin began hosting the television variety programme "The Dean Martin Show", which featured musical performances and comedy and became known for its informal style. From 1974 to 1984, he served as host of "The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast", a programme featuring appearances by entertainers, comedians, and public figures. Over the course of his career, Martin performed in concerts and nightclubs, made numerous recordings, and appeared in 85 film and television productions. He sold millions of records in the United States and internationally. Among his best-known songs are "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?", "Memories Are Made of This", "That's Amore", "Everybody Loves Somebody", "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You", "Sway", and "Volare".
