About Toni Braxton

Toni Michele Braxton (born October 7, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. She has sold more than 70 million records worldwide and is regarded as one of the best-selling female artists. Over the course of her career, she has received seven Grammy Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, and seven American Music Awards, among other honors. In 2011, she was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and in 2017 she received the Legend Award at the Soul Train Music Awards. In the late 1980s, Braxton began performing with her sisters as a member of the R&B group the Braxtons, who were signed to Arista Records. After attracting the attention of producers Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, she signed to their label, LaFace Records, as a solo artist. Her debut studio album, "Toni Braxton" (1993), reached number one on the Billboard 200 and sold approximately 10 million copies worldwide. It produced the singles "Another Sad Love Song" and "Breathe Again" and earned her three Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist. Braxton achieved further commercial success with "Secrets" (1996), which included the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "You're Makin' Me High/Let It Flow" and "Un-Break My Heart". Her third studio album, "The Heat" (2000), debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and featured the single "He Wasn't Man Enough". Subsequent albums, including "Snowflakes" (2001), "More Than a Woman" (2002), "Libra" (2005), and "Pulse" (2010), were released during a period marked by contractual disputes and health challenges. In 2014, Braxton collaborated with Babyface on the duet album "Love, Marriage & Divorce" (2014), which won Best R&B Album at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. She later released "Sex & Cigarettes" (2018) under Def Jam Recordings and "Spell My Name" (2020) under Island Records. In addition to her music career, Braxton has been active in television. She competed on the seventh season of the reality competition series "Dancing with the Stars". She also served as an executive producer and starred in the reality television series "Braxton Family Values", which aired on We TV from 2011 to 2020. She was additionally an executive producer of "Tamar & Vince", a spin-off series centered on her sister Tamar Braxton.
