About evita

There are multiple artists under the stagename "Evita". 1)Evita (formerly August Eve) is part of the new guard redefining music and art. LA-based, she’s a singer-songwriter-producer-director and all-around boundary-defying creative. 2)Evita is a UK Metalcore/Deathcore band from Bristol. 3) Evita is a musical with music written by Andrew Loyd Webber, and lyrics by Tim Rice. It was first released as a concept album in 1976, before it was ever staged. The Broadway version was directed by Hal Prince, with Patti Lupone as Eva, Mandy Patinkin as Che, and Bob Gunton as Peron. Evita is based on the life of Eva Perón, who was the First Lady of Argentina in the early 1950s. The musical is not necessarily historically accurate, but is an entertaining biography sung in an operatic style, without spoken words. Evita was made into a movie in 1996, and starred Madonna as Eva, Antonio Banderas as Che, and Jonathan Pryce as Peron. The most well-known song from this musical is "Don't Cry for Me Argentina."
