About The Capitol City Dusters

The Capitol City Dusters are a trio from Washington, D.C. Alec Bourgeois (ex-Severin) formed the band in 1996 with Ben Azzara (ex-Junction, Delta 72) and played with several bass players before Jesse Quitslund (ex-Vile Cherubs, Please) joined the group in 1998. The Dusters honed their musical sensibilities from 70s and 80s new wave, punk and hardcore but play with tight, organic arrangements that focus their songs firmly forward. The Dusters have toured extensively in the US (1997, 1998, 1999, 2002), Europe (1999, 2003), and Spain (2002). The band released two singles, a split 10" with pals The Most Secret Method, and a full-length, Simplicity, all on Alec's label, Superbad Records. The Dusters recorded their final album, Rock Creek, at Phase Studios the summer of 2001. Rock Creek was released in early 2002 and was their only record to be released exclusively on Dischord Records.
