About Shermans
Shermans is a Swedish twee pop combo. The band was formed in 1997 by Mikael Matsson (formerly in Red Sleeping Beauty) and Torbjörn Thorsén (formerly in Stevepops). They soon released their first recording, "The Sound of Shermans," a 7" single on Blackbean and Placenta. The band recruited Christer "Feskarn" Nilsson to play bass and began playing live shows in and around their hometown. Eventually Torbjörn left the band to start another band, Aerospace, and was soon replaced by Ingela Karlsson as the new Shermans vocalist. In 1999, Shermans released the album "Casual" on the Japanese label Quince (who had previously licensed the two Red Sleeping Beauty albums in Japan). The album was a compilation of early Shermans singles and compilation tracks (with vocals by Torbjörn), along with several new songs (with vocals by Ingela). Since then Shermans - nowadays known as The Shermans - have released three albums: "In Technicolor" (2000), "Falling Out Of Love" (EP, 2001), and "Happiness Is Toy Shaped" (2001), on Shelflife.
