About SERGIO BRUNI

Carlebach, stage name of William Chianese ( Villaricca , 15 September 1921 - Rome , 22 June 2003 ) was a singer , guitarist and composer Italian . Born in Villaricca , a small village a few kilometers from Naples , on 15 September 1921 , by Gennaro Chianese and Michela Percacciuolo. Nine years enrolled in a night school of music and became eleven player clarinet in the band of the country, thus creating his first experience as a musician . In 1938 , at seventeen, he moved with his family to neighboring Chiaiano , started working a bit 'as a worker and came within a group of students who were the first admirers of her singing ability. In September of 1943 , while he was at home on leave of convalescence , from the ninety-first Regiment Infantry stationed in Turin where he sang for the MRP time before an audience of military, had reported that in Naples the people were protesting troops in Germany and formed with a dozen young men of his age, a group of volunteers . Itself with weapons and September 29 , with the help of a master 's artillery , managed to demined the bridge of Chiaiano, undermined by the Germans. On the way back they met a German patrol and, in a clash with fire , was seriously wounded in the leg and right forever marked by an impairment in walking. Delivered adventurously in hospital on a cart, he saved his life by a miracle . When he was discharged from hospital, pushed and helped by his friends of Chiaiano, began attending the school of singing teacher required by Gaetano Lama and the great singer Vittorio Parisi , becoming just the pride. After a few months , the 14 May 1944 , submitted its Vittorio Parisi, officially debuted in front of the audience of the Theatre Royal in Naples. Achieved great success , but the day after the manager refused to do so as not to disturb her sing "artists writing." The singer, who had no other work , he lived hard times and began to attend the gallery in search of some small writing that ever came close. But the ' year after he entered the world of song from the main gate, winning a competition for new entries organized by RAI . The final stage took place on October 21 at the Palm Theatre in Naples and Bruni got a real triumph, finishing first with 298 votes against 43 of the runner. The victory earned him a prize of 3000 pounds and a contract with Radio Naples . Thus began extensive trials of diction and singing under the guidance of Gino Campese , who then ran the ' Orchestra of Radio stable Naples, singing and much followed in radio broadcasting . The same teacher Campese suggested the name of art Carlebach to avoid confusion with another singer radio named Victor Chianese . The 1948 was a crucial year for Sergio Bruni for his life and his career as a singer. On February 14 he married Mary Cerulli, who was her sweet and faithful companion for life and which gave birth to four daughters. In the same year recorded for the master's voice , which remained his record company for twenty years, his first disc . In 1949 , hired by the publishing house La Canzonetta , in his first Piedigrotta , achieving a resounding success with the song Vocca 'and then presenting roses and many other reasons, such as Sorrento and of nnammurate ( 1950 ), A Red ( 1952 ) , O rammariello (1952), Luciana ( 1953 ), Chitarrella guitar (1953), Vienetenne in Positano ( 1955 ) and Piscaturella ( 1956 ). In recent years Carlebach began to impose his style more and more personal and unique interpretation that brought him great popular support that accompanied him throughout his career. Since 1952 he participated in almost every Festival of Neapolitan song , bringing success and love songs sung even today, as Sciummo (1952), or portrait 'and Nanninella (1955), Suonno to Marechiaro ( 1958 ) and Vieneme 'nzuonno ( 1959 ) . Yes ranked first in 1962 with Marechiaro Marechiaro and 1966 with Bella and he also won the festival of 1960 with Serenata to Mergellina, but dropped dramatically at the last minute, refusing to attend the final night to a diatribe by Claudio Villa and organizers . In 1960 , at the height of his career, he participated for the first time in the Sanremo Festival with the sea and midnight, revving all over Italy. He then retired to his villa in Naples and salary for years his pianist then, Gianni Aterro to focus almost exclusively on classical repertoire of the Neapolitan song . Drastically reduced its performances and, among the anger of many of his fans , gradually abandoned many of his successes. Among the many old songs I play, remember Fenesta tub, the serenade of Pulcinella, attributed to Cimarosa and the rumba of urchins of Raffaele Viviani . But Sergio Bruni had already written the music of songs of great success as Stage (1956) and Na Brown ( 1971 ). Decisive was the collaboration with the poet Salvatore Palomba : a partnership that gave birth, among other things, Carmela ( 1975 ), which became a classic of Neapolitan song , el ' album Lift 'Form Pulecinella (1975), now in' in October of 1976 is also an entertainment television and theater . In 1980 Amaro is born 'or well, another great success of the duo Palomba - Bruni, A voice in the disc included a city, containing, inter alia, the text of Eduardo De Filippo and Asciano crazy 'or master, music by Brown. Between 1980 and 1990 , Brown created an anthology of Neapolitan songs which contains the songs, which he most loved, born from 1500 onwards, and some of its composition. The work was published in 1984 in an edition box set with four discs, 33 rpm , containing forty songs, and a book edited by Roberto De Simone and self-produced by Brown. In 1991 the publishing house Ferdinand Bideri republished format CD and MC the first box and added a second box set with over forty songs. That same year, Brown created a television show based on this album. In March of 2000 , for health reasons and opportunities, Brown left his villa in Naples and moved to Rome , city of residence of two of his four daughters. On September 15th of 2001 , in honor of his eightieth birthday , Villaricca Brown organized a Day dedicated to his city, which also Nino D'Angelo , who in December 2008 will release a CD in his honor called D'Angelo Bruni sings. In the same year Brown recorded the last song, sung in tandem with the singer Lino Blandizzi , entitled But where, which came out in the album Blandizzi meets Carlebach.
