MF Robots is a British funk/soul duo formed by Jan Kincaid and Dawn Joseph. Jan Kincaid, the former drummer, songwriter, producer, and founder of The Brand New Heavies, met Dawn Joseph, a vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist when she started singing for the Heavies in 2013. The pair instantly clicked and began writing songs together. After releasing the album "Sweet Freaks" with the Heavies in 2014, they decided to form their own band, MF Robots. The name MF Robots stands for "Music For Robots," a subtle dig at how generic today's music climate has become. Their music is based around Joseph's effusive vocals, mindful of soul's golden age but with a modern twist, and Kincaid's killer rhythms. They released their debut album "Music For Robots" in 2018, followed by "Break The Wall" in 2022. Dawn Joseph has a rich musical past, having played bass with Phil Collins' band and sung with acts like Kylie Minogue, Michael McDonald, and CeeLo Green. Her vibrant personality and rich musical background add a unique flair to the band's music. MF Robots have several notable tracks that have resonated with fans.
