There are multiple artists/groups working under the name of Loris: 1. Slowcore band from Chicago: https://lorissound.bandcamp.com/ 2 . Loris is an improvising trio consisting of Daniel Jones (turntable, ebows, electronics), Sarah Hughes (autoharp & piano) and Patrick Farmer (contact mics, wood and whisks, natural objects). Their first CD 'The Cat from Cat Hill' was released on the Another Timbre record label (http://www.anothertimbre.com/) to favourable reviews in December 2009. 3 . Loris is also the working name of Loris Stavrinides who is a Trance & Progressive dance music DJ. He was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1981 and he is currently living in the UK He has been listening to Trance since 1999 and it wasn't up until 2002 when his obsession with DJing started. In 2003 along with 2 friends he managed to organize their very first public event called 'N.light.N'. It was the first time he have played in public and the reaction from the crowd was better than was expected. From that point on more gigs followed in a variety of dance events around Cyprus, managing to establish a very well respected name in the local DJ scene at a very short period of time. In 2004 he was voted on the 13th position in the Cyprus Official DJ Poll with only one year of experience. In 2005 he left Cyprus to curry on his studies as a Designer and he's been living and working full time in the UK ever since. When he gets the chance he occasionally DJs as a guest at a variety of edm events, and remains active in the scene by regularly publishing online exclusive podcast mixes under his recently formed alias/label, HighGlow Music (www.highglow-music.com).
