About Dissection
There are multiple bands known by the name Dissection, originating from various countries and representing different styles within the metal genre: 1. Dissection was a Swedish extreme metal band formed in 1989 in Strömstad by guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter Jon Nödtveidt and bassist Peter Palmdahl. The band released two influential albums, "The Somberlain" (1993) and "Storm of the Light's Bane" (1995), before disbanding in 1997 following Nödtveidt's imprisonment for complicity in a murder. After his release, Nödtveidt reformed Dissection in 2004 with new members who shared his dedication to the band's Satanic philosophy. They released a third album, "Reinkaos", in 2006 and disbanded shortly afterward. In August 2006, Nödtveidt died by suicide. A compilation album titled "Dissected Tapes" was released posthumously in 2006. 5. Dissection was a black metal band from Germany. After releasing two demo tapes, the band changed its name to Tsatthoggua, under which it released several full-length albums. 6. Dissection was a death/grind band from Poland, active only briefly in 1990 before disbanding a year later. 7. Dissection is a thrash metal band from the Czech Republic, formed in 1985. Unlike many others with the same name, this band remains active.
