About DJ Quicksilver
DJ Quicksilver (* June 28, 1964 in Istanbul as Orhan Terzi) is a German DJ and producer in the field of electronic music. Terzi was born in Turkey and grew up in Hattingen. After moving to Bochum, he opened the record store White Label Records, which he ran for years and quickly became a meeting point for ravers and DJs. Among others, Terzi also met the DJ and music producer Tommaso De Donatis there, with whom he collaborated very successfully from 1995 until their last joint release in 2003. Terzi chose the artist name DJ Quicksilver during a DJ competition after a success barometer, a mercury column that shot up in response to the applause for him. The first single of the music project DJ Quicksilver – Bingo Bongo was released in 1995 and reached number 36 on the German charts. The music project DJ Quicksilver had its most successful period in 1997 and 1998. The single Bellissima sold over 500,000 copies in England alone, earning the production team a Gold Record. The production team was also in high demand as remixers for acts such as Faithless, Chicane, Dance 2 Trance, and Usura. Furthermore, DJ Quicksilver was nominated for a Brit Award as well as for an Echo. In 2001, he recorded Shaggy's hit Boombastic again as a single, which placed at number 27 in Germany and was released in 2003 on DJ Quicksilver's second studio album Clubfiles – The Album. After Tommaso De Donatis left the joint project, Orhan Terzi has been working with other producers since 2009.
