There are at least four artists / acts called Ciel or CIEL. 1. CIEL is a post-punk / shoegaze, indie rock trio from Brighton, United Kingdom. It was originally the pseudonym of Dutch-born singer-songwriter Michelle Hindriks, who was active as CIEL in 2016 and 2017, then relocated to the United Kingdom and turned CIEL into a three-piece band. They released a long string of singles and three EPs from 2022 onwards. Their debut full-length, Call Me Silent finally came out in October 2025 on V2 Records. 2. Ciel is an electronic music producer, who also performs as DJ Cindy Li, from Toronto, Canada. 3. Ciel is a virtual singer from the Kamitsubaki Studio in Japan. She is a "cross-border female singer that goes back and forth between real and virtual. 4. Ciel is an underground rapper from the UK.
