About 6ix9ine
Daniel Hernandez (born May 8, 1996) and professionally known as 6ix9ine, Tekashi69, or Tekashi 6ix9ine, is an American rapper. He emerged in the late 2010s with an aggressive vocal style and a highly visible public persona, characterized by distinctive rainbow-colored hair, extensive tattoos, frequent use of social media, and involvement in public controversies and feuds. Hernandez first gained attention in 2017 through a guest appearance on Trippie Redd’s single "Poles 1469". Later that year, he released his debut single "Gummo", which became a sleeper hit and peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song preceded his debut mixtape "Day69" (2018), which was supported by the singles "Kooda", "Keke" (with Fetty Wap and A Boogie wit da Hoodie), and "Gotti", all of which entered the Billboard Hot 100. His debut studio album, "Dummy Boy" (2018), was led by the single "Fefe" (featuring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz), which peaked at number three on the chart. Despite generally negative critical reception, the album reached number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2015, Hernandez pleaded guilty to a felony count involving the use of a child in a sexual performance and was sentenced to four years of probation and 1,000 hours of community service. In 2018, he was arrested alongside his manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan and several members of the Nine Trey Gangsters faction of the United Blood Nation street gang on racketeering and related felony charges. After cooperating with federal authorities and testifying against members of the gang, Hernandez was sentenced to two years in prison in December 2019. He was placed on home confinement in April 2020 and released in August of that year. Following his release, Hernandez achieved short-term commercial success with the singles "Gooba" and "Trollz" (with Nicki Minaj), which peaked at numbers three and one on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively. His second studio album, "TattleTales" (2020), debuted at number four on the Billboard 200. His third album, "Leyenda Viva" (2023), marked his first reggaeton-focused project and did not achieve significant chart success. Hernandez’s cooperation with law enforcement led to widespread criticism and ostracism within the hip-hop community, significantly affecting his public image and standing within the genre. Studio albums Dummy Boy (2018) TattleTales (2020) Leyenda Viva (2023)
