About Zimbabwe
There is 2 bands with the name Zimbabwe Four girls from the Baltic state of Lithuania, escaping all possible frames, both social and musical. Some call them ska/punk, but they cover wider space: ska rhythm, punk moments and emotional melodies. The content of their songs has grown with the passing of seasons, reaching social issues, although sometimes indirectly and through personal experiences. Attentive listeners could recognize the connection between the changing of seasons and the emotionaly charged music. Psychiatrists usually call it seasonal depression :). The Girls are a part of a number of feminist movements in Lithuania and in Europe. Additionally to all concerned social issues, Zimbabwe is advocating the ideas of DIY (Do It Yourself) philosophy, and is supporting not consumption life style. A 2 piece indie band from Canada & Scotland. Famous because the 2 members have never met face to face.
