About Winteria

The band was born in the very end of 2020 in Moscow when songwriter Anton Koltsov met arranger, multiinstrumentalist and sound engineer Nicolas Crowen. They already knew each other, but Nicolas’ studio work became a surprise for Anton. First song they made alive was «Крылья» («Wings») that was composed by Anton in 2006 when he was 14. The rest of the songs are composed in the present. The name Winteria comes from the word «winter» despite the fact that there is a winteria fish, after which a French symphonic metal band and an English world music band are named. Russian Winteria released debut self-titled album in 2022 and is working on the further records. Their music is melodic progressive metal with the symphonic, power, folk and gothic elements. "WINTERIA knows how to create the atmosphere of a beautiful place, far from petty human fuss" – Volga Metal Community "Melodies and symphony fall on the listener like an avalanche. In a blizzard of synths, effects, timbres, samples, you literally cannot breathe" – DarkCity magazine "Christmas in July" – Metal Archives
