About NIMEA
NIMEA is a Russian symphonic metal band formed in Saint Petersburg in 2018. The band consists of Ekaterina Desyatnikova on vocals, music, and lyrics; Ivan Kaizer on keyboards and arrangements; Kseniia Fadeeva on keyboards; Victor Zhukov on guitar; Konstantin Shorshin on bass; and Vladimir Osipov on drums. NIMEA’s music features intricate vocal work, heavily distorted guitar riffs, multi-layered symphonic arrangements, and compositions that range from epic orchestral pieces to more intimate, chamber-like songs. This variety is often enhanced by a subtle sense of humor and allusions to different musical genres and historical eras. The band released its debut single, “Nimea,” in May 2018, followed by “Siren's Heart” in June 2018 and a video for “Christmas Eve” in December of the same year. NIMEA’s first album, 7Stories, was released in January 2019. In February 2020, they followed up with the EP Infanta and, in May 2021, released another EP titled Above the River. They continued with the release of the single “Wind” in March 2022, followed by the album Etiam Peccata in May 2022. NIMEA’s work has been characterized by its ability to combine the force of metal with the grace of classical music, resulting in a unique and occasionally eclectic style.
