1.When is the musical project of Norwegian artist Lars Pedersen (born in the late 50s). In 1983 Pedersen created the project Hospital Blimp, which would later become When. The debut album Drowning But Learning was released in 1987, and the collage technique that has come to be one of When's trademarks was apparent already then. To this date, When has released 13 albums, 1 single and 1 compilation ranging from dark soundscapes to pop tunes and experimental sound collages. In 2009, When started his Homage Series. The first volume was an album where Pedersen borrows, cuts, loops, adds and turns over the music of Sun Ra. 2. Avant-garde/noise group formed by Velladon, Kengo Matsumoto (The Novembers) and Yui Kimijima. When portrays diverse phenomenon which is occurred from human lifes using their musical techniques and experiences. Their music is an epic poetry which is composed by delicately treated sound image and it is sometimes created in improvisational process.
