About Walter Trout Band
Walter Trout Band was an American blues band formed and led by guitarist and front man Walter Trout (born in Ocean City, New Jersey, in 1951) after he left John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1989. With keyboardist Danny Abrams, bassist Jimmy Trapp, and drummer Leroy Larson, Trout and his band recorded their debut album "Life in the Jungle" between June 21 and July 9, 1989. Several tracks were recorded in sessions at Stockholm's Electra Studios, while others were live recordings from the band's performance at Danish festival Midtfyns on July 2.The album initially received a limited release in Scandinavian countries from Bozz, a sub-division of Swedish record label Electra, in 1989. After the label went defunct, Trout signed with Dutch label Provogue Records in 1990 and the album received a wider European release that year. The band continued to play, and release albums, through to 1997. In 1998, Trout released his self-titled US debut album and renamed his band 'Walter Trout and the Free Radicals' - later renamed 'Walter Trout and the Radicals' and currently simply 'Walter Trout'. Since, Trout has been recording prolifically and touring in North and Central America, Europe, Australia, and India.
