About Vivian Campbell

Vivian Patrick Campbell (born in August 25, 1962 in Belfast, Ireland) is an Irish rock guitarist, currently playing for Def Leppard. However, he was already known as a proficient shredding style guitarist in the early 80's, before joining the band in 1992, first with the Irish rock band Sweet Savage, then with Dio . In 1987, Campbell joined English hard rock group Whitesnake,and then had a stint with Lou Gramm in Shadow King and also in the band Riverdogs. In 2005 Campbell released a solo album produced by Tor Hyams called "Two Sides of If", which features cover versions of his favourite blues tunes and one original blues song. Terry Bozzio plays drums on the album. ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons guests on two songs, and Joan Osborne on one other song. He then joined Thin Lizzy in 2011-2012 and founded a Dio cover band named Last in Line with three other former members of the band.
