Tierra Umi Wilson (born February 9, 1999), known professionally as UMI, is an American singer-songwriter known for her "bedroom R&B" sound, which blends elements of R&B, neo-soul, and alternative pop. Born in Seattle to an African-American father and a Japanese mother, she dropped out of USC in 2019 to pursue music. UMI began gaining attention with her breakout single "Remember Me" in 2018. Since then, UMI has released a string of acclaimed projects, including her EPs Love Language (2019), Introspection (2020) and Introspection Reimagined, her debut studio album Forest in the City (2022), her EP Talking to the Wind (2024), and in her own words her true debut album, people stories (2025). She has toured with artists like Conan Gray and Jhené Aiko, and collaborated with global stars such as BTS’s V, building a strong reputation for herself. "I hope that the relatability of my lyrics can be comforting to people who realize their worries and problems are universal. I want them to know that they’re not alone."
