About The Audreys
The Audreys is an Australian blues and roots band formed in Adelaide in 2004 by founding mainstay, Taasha Coates on lead vocals, melodica, harmonica and ukulele. They have released a series of studio albums, including one in 2006 called Between Last Night and Us, another in 2008 called When the Flood Comes, in 2010 Sometimes the Stars, and 'Til My Tears Roll Away (March 2014). Founding guitarist, Tristan Goodall, died on 2 July 2022. Their first two records won the ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album. After their debut album, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Taasha Coates says it took her and fellow songwriter/guitarist Tristan Goodall an age to get back to writing: “We were just a little Adelaide band that made an album, then suddenly we were touring constantly and playing on bigger and bigger stages... It was all so overwhelming and took up so much of our time that is was 18 months before we wrote another song". The Audreys became comprised of Taasha Coates (voice, piano, melodica, ukulele) and Tristan Goodall (acoustic and electric guitars, banjo). Former members include Michael Green (violin, lap steel, backing vocals), Lyndon Gray (upright and electric bass) and Toby Lang (drums). Founding guitarist, Tristan Goodall, died on 2 July 2022. In 2016, Taasha Coates released her first solo record Taasha Coates and her Melancholy Sweethearts through ABC Music. In November 2024, the group released "Secondhand Boots", their first single in ten years. In March 2025 the group released Ruin & Repair. http://www.theaudreys.com.au
