About Sweep

There are 4 Bands sharing that name: 1.) Sweep is a band from the small town Fredrikstad in Norway. The band was formed in late 1996 by Truls Kristian Nygaard & Jon Erik Martinsen after Jon Erik became disheartened by the direction his previous band (Apoptygma berzerk) was taking. Sweep's main goal is to make some catchy electronic tunes inspired by the music they've grown up listening to in the eighties. They've always been fans of synthpop music, and they try to mix that influence with more recent sounds and inspirations. The major driving force is to have lots of fun making music, always try to explore new ideas coming along, and play many more gigs in the next ten years of Sweep. 2.) SWEEP was an Austrian Alternative-Rockband from the 90s with Hannes Strasser from 'Silberstern' on the vocals. 3.) Alias of Marco Lisei who did a cover version of Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" as Sweep 4.) Sweep is a R&B singer from Japan.
