About Sub Sub Feat Melanie Williams

Sub Sub were a British acid house act which formed in Manchester, England in 1988 comprising Jimi Goodwin, Andy Williams and Jez Williams. The three met at school and became regulars at The Hacienda, the most famous club of the Mancunian city. They had moderate success in the early 1990s including the single Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use) (featuring guest vocalist Melanie Williams) which reached #3 in the UK singles charts. In addition, Sub Sub collaborated with Tricky and New Order frontman Bernard Sumner. After a fire destroyed their recording studio in 1996 they re-emerged as Doves in 1998. Doves since have become more popular and commercially successful than Sub Sub.
