About Solex

There are at least two artists that use the name Solex: 1. An indie pop singer from the Netherlands 2. A trance DJ from Romania 1. Dutch keyboard wizard Elisabeth Esselink, aka SOLEX is described in as many variations as her music. She's an indie pop singer / songwriter / sample artist, or is she? Esselink’s haunting vocals combined with a varied array of found sounds (some of ’em found in the second-hand record shop she runs) recall few other experimental/pop crossovers. Solex inventive musical endeavours (with for example the Maarten Altena Ensemble) showcase a vocal presence (and a keen sense of humor) you won’t find elsewhere. The Solex live show has evolved into a thing of extraordinary dexterity, merging the idiosyncrasies of her albums with the immediacy of a live band. In the past she played The Lowlands Festival, SxSW, Popkomm, CMJ, Noorderslag, Les Printemps de Bourges, Roskilde, toured Japan, Europe, Iceland, South America, the United States, done six Peel Sessions, and met lots of nice people. Since the "Laughing stock of Indie rock" album she's mainly been playing live with Marit de Loos (on drums). 2. His real name is Sinka Szilárd, who was born in Romania, on the city of Odorheiu Secuiesc in the april of 1989. His parents was breed the child beside music from his small ages. Then, when he had been 7, the parents had he written to a music school, where he gained admission at the 1st place! Under the 8 years, when he passed his time at school, he learned playing on piano and and acquired everything what it is necessary to know about the "music". In the following years he got acquainted, with his current best friend, Jotto. The two teenagers decided it, that they will be famous djs and producers in the high life! So, with common strength, and with young head, they were started to write music...In the genre of handzup and hardstyle, they were "bring down the house" under the Solex vs. Jotto, Cookie Boyz and The Degenerated Monkeys name. 3 years later, after the big successes, was a big arose of fission, because both children are started to take his first steps in his separate road... ...from this time, Solex started to enquiring after the more serious and more demanding music styles, like trance, techno and the deep musics. In this time he got acquainted with some worthily famous musical producers (Matt Cerf, Dj Eco, Sebastian Brandt, Best Service and with many other people), who helped the boy in the come along. He received an opportunity, for making a remix from "Matt Cerf - Walk Away" track, which was released at Deep Blue Recordings. Not much time later, he started a collaboration with one of the member of Polymental, named Bear Service, with who made a superb and subline uplifting trance music, and the track was named "Nothing less". After this he made a collaboration with Dj Eco, the hard, but light "Wither and Fly". This during time, to his Jotto's friend uging, he started to make his own electro, minimal, tech-house and funky house track...And this was the fact, that he introduced with the famous Miled Dyson, the leader of the Plasmapool Recordings, from Germany. Solex decided, that he will use an other name for his new styles of music...and he opted near the Count Sinca name. Count Sinca joined to the Plasmapool team, and he made a lot of own tracks...Their common music prepared with Dyson turned out most promising in the electrohouse style. We cannot know what bring the future, but we can be sure, that we will hear many many decerse song by Solex aka. Count Sinca...
