About Silver Lining

There are numerous artists with this name, including: 1) a Norwegian band from Oslo; 2) a French progressive music band; 3) a Norwegian band active in the 2000s; 4) a Canadian band formed in Toronto in 2016; 5) a Swiss band formed in Basel in 2003. 6) a British pop act from the 1970s. Note: there are also artists with name Silverlining and The Silver Lining. 1) a Norwegian band from Oslo bringing together members of two prominent Norwegian acts, The Northern Belle and Louien, folky americana quartet at times dubbed a super group in their native country. Consisting of four instrumentalists, three of them also singer-songwriters, Silver Lining debuted with the low-key and mellow Heart and Mind Alike in 2018. The album was well received and reached wide audience, thanks to millions of streams. The angelic voices of Stine Andreassen and Live Miranda Solberg fit perfectly with the rougher, dylanesque voice of Halvor Falck Johansen. The three singers’ acoustic guitar interplay is interwoven with and elevated by Bjørnar Ekse Brandseth’s electric guitars, pedal steel and dobro. Go Out Nowhere expands the band’s sound significantly. Working with rhythm section Chris Holm (bass) and Kim Åge Furuhaug (drums) of popular instrumental trio Orions Belte has brought a steady groove to Silver Lining’s brand of americana . Formed by Nicolas Mourachko (guitars) and Pascal Indelicato (piano & keyboards), it featured Antoine Van Limburg (drums), Pierre Moissonnier (bass & vocals)... INDELSPEEN split but the two founders along: with Thierry Sportouche (ANOXIE's lyricist), formed SILVER LINING in 1998. Pascal Indelicato, the main composer, is specialised in symphonic orchestration; he wrote several works among which "Resurgence" which blends synths with classical music. He thus played several tracks for a symphonic orchestra live. He is a sound ingeneer and has a recording studio ("Music Labo"). He produced SILVER LINING's album there. The band then featured Michel Mourachko (bass), Annie Morel (violin) and Alain Descombe (drums). The band played as guest at the Ange concert in Vesoul (700 persons), in Lyon with Cortiane (200 persons) and with Exsimio (an outfit from Chile). They recorded a limited edition EP (4 songs) for that occasion. In March 2003, Alain Descombe (drums) leaves the band. In April 2003, Michel Faure (ex-CRESUDI) replaces him. In April 2004, Musea releases "The Inner Dragon", SILVER LINING's debut album. It's a concept album with fantasy lyrics and strong symphonic touches (the violin parts). The album includes twelve tracks including "Lovestalgia", "Opaline", "The Morning Dew", "Castaways", "Fall" and "The Inner Dragon". In September 2005, David Pelade (drums) rejoins Silver Lining. The band plays as guest at the Ange concert in Lyon in October. www.progarchives.com 3) a Norwegian band active in the 2000s, a project of the prolific Norwegian musician, Kristopher Schau, alongside Roar Nilsen (Minor Majority / ex-The Dogs). Two EPs were recorded, the New Beginning-EP in 2004 and the Unbreakable EP in 2005. In year 2006, Silver Lining split and the members started to play in different formations.
