About SHANIA TWAIN
Eilleen Regina "Shania" Twain (born August 28, 1965) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She has sold over 100 million records, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time and the best-selling female artist in country music history. She has been referred to as the "Queen of Country Pop," and Billboard recognized her as a leading figure among 1990s country-pop crossover artists. Twain was raised in Timmins, Ontario, and began pursuing singing and songwriting at an early age. She signed with Mercury Nashville Records in the early 1990s, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1993, which did not achieve commercial success. Her breakthrough came after collaborating with producer and husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange on her second studio album, "The Woman in Me" (1995). The album sold over 20 million copies worldwide, produced eight singles including "Any Man of Mine," and earned her a Grammy Award. Her third studio album, "Come On Over" (1997), sold over 40 million copies globally, becoming the best-selling studio album by a female solo artist, the best-selling country album, the best-selling album by a Canadian artist, and one of the best-selling albums overall. It generated twelve singles, including "You're Still the One," "From This Moment On," "That Don't Impress Me Much," and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" and won four Grammy Awards. Twain’s fourth album, "Up!" (2002), included eight singles such as "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!," "Ka-Ching!," and "Forever and for Always." After releasing her "Greatest Hits" album in 2004, which included three singles such as "Party for Two," Twain took a hiatus due to Lyme disease and dysphonia, which weakened her singing voice. She documented her recovery in the OWN miniseries "Why Not? with Shania Twain," released her first single in six years, "Today Is Your Day," and published her autobiography "From This Moment On." She returned to performing with the concert residency "Shania: Still the One" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 2012 to 2014, followed by the North American "Rock This Country Tour" in 2015. Twain released her first studio album in 15 years, "Now," in 2017, supporting it with the "Now Tour" in 2018. In 2019, she began her second Las Vegas residency, "Let's Go!," at the Zappos Theater. Her sixth studio album, "Queen of Me," was released in 2023, accompanied by the "Queen of Me Tour." Twain has won five Grammy Awards, two World Music Awards, and 39 BMI Songwriter Awards. She has been inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. According to the RIAA, she is the only female artist to have three consecutive albums certified Diamond and is the seventh best-selling female artist in the United States. She is ranked as the tenth best-selling artist of the Nielsen SoundScan era. Billboard named her the 13th Greatest Music Video Female Solo Artist of all time and the highest-grossing female country touring artist, with $421.1 million in concert tour revenue.
