About SCYCS

SCYCS was a five-member German rock band from Magdeburg whose style evolved from punk roots to energetic, melodic pop rock. Founded in 1993, the band underwent several lineup changes before winning second place at the F6 Music Award, a major East German newcomer competition, in 1997. In November of the same year they produced their single "Next November", which became a breakthrough hit. Following this success, SCYCS performed as a supporting act for Eros Ramazzotti and Peter Maffay and made guest appearances in the television soap operas "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" and "Unter uns". Their debut album "Pay TV" was released in 1999, after which the band embarked on an extensive tour of more than 250 concerts. In 2000 they released their second album "Honeydew" on WEA Records, featuring the single "Radiostar", which reached the top ten of the German airplay charts. In spring 2003 the album "Play it Loud" was released on HEARTDISCOrecords, including the single "Music". A planned follow-up album for 2006 was never released.
