At the five-way intersection that gives the Denver Five Points neighborhood its name, the venerable Rossonian Hotel and Lounge stands. In its early 1900’s heyday, the club hosted the best of the world’s musical elite. Stars such as Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday and Nat King Cole played to packed houses. The bohemian neighborhood reveled in North Denver's vibrant music club scene. Times changed. Today the stately Rossonian sits vacant amidst a neighborhood in transition. A new generation of writers, dancers and musicians are rediscovering the roots of this classic, historic Denver scene… including a Rock band calling itself Rossonian. In tribute, Rossonian the band continues the musical legacy of the neighborhood they now call home. Like their predecessors, they excite a generation to be more than safe. A raw, pure pursuit of modern Indie Pop & Rock, Rossonian’s style is based in deep, instrumental roots. The voluptuous grooves of bassist Kramer Kelling and drummer Nate Barnes incorporate tasteful rock vibes and electronic persuasions. Turbulent guitars (Seth Evans) and rich, gritty Rhodes piano (Scott Roush) flow through the middle ranges of the bands sonic spectrum while samples, loops, and pertinent synths infuse the high and low reaches. On top of the band’s thick musical bed are their vocals, the definition of Rossonian’s neoteric sound. In an instant, lead-singer Evans’ dynamic voice can morph from polished to thrashes of animalism. When instruments scream, Kelling and Roush join Evans in towering three-part harmonies. Rossonian the band, like the spirit of the timeless, classic building hopes to remain in sight (and sound) for the musical entertainment of generations to come.
