About Operation Makeout

Originally formed in May of 1999, Operation Makeout’s current line-up features Katie on guitar and vocals (formerly of Molly and Rescue Annie) Jesse on bass and vocals (formerly of dbs and The New Fever), and Anna on drums (formerly of Molly and Welcome to Beatsville). Since forming they have had the opportunity to open for such fine acts as The Need, The Weakerthans, and Mirah. Following the independent release of their first self-titled CD in the summer of 2000, they completed a two week westcoast tour with Victoria's Intrepid Shapiro. Upon returning, the band entered UBC CITR's annual battle of the bands and went on to win 3rd place out of the 28 bands that originally entered. Operation Makeout has recently finished a new five song EP. The EP was recorded at Jesse’s own digital studio, Rec-age Recorders. The mint records release of their EP "First Base" was followed by a month long Canadian tour last August with labelmates The New Town Animals. The new release, matched with the ever increasing energy of their live performance proves that Operation Makeout is prepared to rock hard into the years to come.
