"Normandie" may refer to more than one band: 1. An alternative rock band from Örebro, Sweden, known for their seamless fusion of post-hardcore energy, cinematic electronics, and emotionally charged melodies. Formed in late 2013, the band began as a six-piece outfit with Philip Strand and Johan Lindström sharing vocal duties, joined by guitarists Joel Felix and Håkan Almbladh, bassist Stefan Timmerholm, and drummer Jesper Malmberg. Initially rooted in metalcore and post-hardcore, their early sound was heavier and more aggressive, evident with their debut self-titled EP. They've also covered one of Sia's top hits: Chandelier. As the band progressed, their sound evolved toward a more melodic, polished, and genre-blending style. The departure of Lindström in 2015 led Strand to take over as the sole frontman, steering Normandie toward a more dynamic and emotionally driven direction. This shift culminated in their debut full-length album Inguz (2016), which marked a major stylistic breakthrough. Tracks like "Collide" and "Awakening" showcased their ability to blend anthemic choruses with ambient textures and raw vulnerability. Their 2018 follow-up, White Flag, pushed their boundaries further, combining arena-ready rock hooks with thoughtful lyricism that touched on themes of resistance, identity, and defiance. The album solidified their reputation as a standout act within the modern alt-rock scene and brought them to larger international stages, touring across Europe and the UK. Despite lineup changes — eventually narrowing to the trio of Strand, Almbladh, and new drummer Anton Franzon — the band retained its sonic richness, largely due to Strand’s work as both frontman and producer. During this time, the band covered All the Time (originally sung by Zara Larsson), and Believe (originally sung Cher). In 2021, the band released Dark & Beautiful Secrets, a deeply personal and concept-driven album exploring childhood trauma, mental health, and spiritual conflict. The album was praised for its honesty, cohesion, and cinematic scope. “We need to be accepting of other people’s secrets, and willing to share our own.” Building on that momentum, their 2024 record Dopamine embraced a bold new format: each track was released monthly in a year-long campaign called the “Dopamine Clinic,” reflecting on the overstimulation and emotional desensitization brought by modern digital life. The album marked yet another creative peak, with songs like “Serotonin” and “Hourglass” (featuring Dani Winter-Bates, the lead vocalist of Bury Tomorrow), capturing both vulnerability and intensity in equal measure. And, in October 9, 2024, Normandie and the Australian band Hands Like Houses collaborated on "Hurts Like Hell", a track reminiscent of "Babylon". On November 7, 2025, they released a new track called "Sellout". It is the first song they've released without a label (previously Easy Life Records). On April 17, 2026, they released their new ep: "SIDE-EFFECTS PT.1", a sequel to their album Dopamine, stating: "The system rewards obedience. The loudest voice wins. We traded art for algorithms and called it evolution." 2. An alias of German downtempo/chillout producer Norman Radek, who released Time Lapse in 2006 on Sine Music. 3. A French folk band who self-released their debut album Le début de l'histoire, in 2022.
