Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful Canadian groups, having sold 50 million records worldwide. Nickelback ranks as the 7th best selling music act of the 2000s and the 2nd best selling foreign act in the US behind The Beatles for the 2000s. The band consists of lead guitarist and vocalist Chad Kroeger, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, and bassist Mike Kroeger. The group underwent several drummer changes between 1995 and 2005 before Daniel Adair became the permanent drummer. Nickelback signed with Roadrunner Records in 1999 and achieved mainstream success in 2002 with the single "How You Remind Me," which reached number one in both the United States and Canada. The song appeared on the album "Silver Side Up," which was certified 8× Platinum in Canada. Their fourth album, "The Long Road" (2003), produced five singles, including the Canadian number-one track "Someday," which reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's fifth album, "All the Right Reasons" (2005), became their best-selling release, generating three top-10 and five top-20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Photograph," "Far Away," and "Rockstar," the latter becoming their most successful single in the United Kingdom. From their sixth album, "Dark Horse" (2008), Nickelback released eight singles, including the U.S. top-10 song "Gotta Be Somebody." Their seventh album, "Here and Now" (2011), reached number one in Canada. Subsequent releases include "No Fixed Address" (2014), "Feed the Machine" (2017), and "Get Rollin'" (2022), their tenth studio album. Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands, having sold over 50 million albums worldwide. In 2009, Billboard ranked them as the most successful rock group and the seventh-most successful artist of the decade, with "How You Remind Me" being the best-selling rock song and the fourth-best-selling song overall. In 2023, Nickelback was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
