About Nuttea

Nuttea (born Olivier Lara on January 1, 1968), formerly known as Daddy Nuttea, is a French ragga artist. Nuttea starts his career in the late 1980's with sound system High Fight International, comprised of Polino, TipTop, Tonton David, Féfé Typical, and Don Lickshot. He achieves some fame in 1997 with fellow artist and friend Pierpoljak when the song Agitateur is aired on several local radios, as well as with a french cover of Bob Marley's Natural Mystic. In 2000, Nuttea achieves even more fame with his album Un signe du temps, sold at 700 000 copies. Nuttea contributed to several songs from IAM: he contributed to the chorus parts in the song Un cri court dans la nuit on the album L'école du Micro d'Argent, as well as La 25e image on the La Haine soundtrack. Those aren't his only collaborations with rap artists from Marseilles, as Akhenaton (IAM) is featured on one song from Un signe du temps, N (Haine). Nuttea is also well known for his contributions to the Taxi 2 movie soundtrack, released on March 2000, and his collaboration with UB40 on the song Cover Up in 2001.
