The Mountain Men are a duo playing acoustic blues, hailing from the French Alps -- hence their name. MySpace: Mountain Men " The atypical duet Franco - Australian goes on in his incredible adventure" In 2009, the release of Spring Time Coming made a stir in the international world of Blues. With this first album the duet is nominated at the Awards of the "Blues foundation of Memphis"; then they receive the special price of the famous Cognac Blues Passion Festival and they carry their show everywhere in the world. Starting from the Chartreuse Mountains, near Grenoble, Mr Mat and Mr iano make crowds of people dance in USA, Turkey, in Quebec, in Croatia, in Sweden, in Burkina Faso etc... In France, the success is really spectacular: to sell more than 15 000 albums nowadays is a real exploit, but to do that without any help from the medias is a real feat!!!!A feat realized thanks to the "Vox Populi" and built all along more than 300 concerts produced by the duo. We must say that during a concert the exchange between the Mountain Men and his public is really extraordinary Carried on by Mister Mat's heady voice and by the flights of iano's harmonica, the groove and the emotion go together during all concert. And the original and undeniable charisma of these two characters leads us between laughs and thrills, enthusiasm and festive communicative energy. Here again the public is not wrong, reserving long and long standing ovations during such famous festivals as Jazz à Vienne ,Nancy Jazz Pulsation ,or in the mythic concert halls as l'Olympia, the New Morning or the Transbordeur. Now it's with HOPE, the second album that the group goes on living his adventure. If we can't miss the original roots of Blues of the group, present at anytime, it's much further that we are taken away by the 13 titles of the album. Blues? Rock? Pop-Folk? No matter the labels for the duo: here we are speaking of music, of real good music. The compositions sound like obviousnesses that the wealth of the arrangements and of the realisation grows prettier. From the first notes from the harmonica , from the first chords of the guitar, we understand that we are not going to listen to one of the productions quickly forgotten but a disc home-made, a creation full of life, made with heart and brain, where we feel the musicians 's soul. The presence on 3 titles of a string quartet underlines the magic touch that the Mr Mat's voice infuses in the love songs that are "Before I Sleep" or "Move Up to the door". The devastating riffs of iano's harmonica come and strengthen the incredible energy of the wild titles that are "Egostical", "Nothing Zero none», or "Give it back to me"; "Imidouane" ,the duet with Victor DEME, fruit of a meeting with him in Burkina Faso really is a mere wonder, as we have the feeling to share an unbelievable trip in new foreign countries when listening this song. At last, 2 cover versions as surprising and perfect bring the last touch to a disc of 100 sides, both hard and lively, rough and with sensitive delicacy.
