Matteo Amantia Scuderi (born February 4, 1979 in Catania, Italy), known as Matteo Amantia, is an Italian singer. Amantia's first band, Kataitna, was formed in 1998. The band played all over Sicily and participated in several national musical events. Kataitna dissolved in 2001 and Matteo pursued a solo project called "Maya" at the same time he finished his sound engineering degree and opened a recording studio "LAVOCE records" where he has recorded and produced numerous projects. In 2003, Amantia joined the band Sugarfree, a well known local band. With Sugarfree Amantia enjoyed national success participating in national music festivals and with the hit songs "Cleptomania," "Cromosoma," and "Scusa ma ti chiamo amore". Amantia left Sugarfree in 2008 for artistic reasons. Amantia is currently studying classic guitar, pursuing a solo career, and continuing his work recording and producing music at his studio.
