About JIONY
Co-founder of Mexico City’s based electronic music label VAA. From Nu-Jazz to Techno, through Trip-Hop, Funk and Latin music, jiony offers one of the most unique and identifiable sounds in the contemporary downtempo scene. For more than ten years he has been taking chances on slow music in and out of the dance floors, playing alongside Nicola Cruz, El Búho, Matanza and Nicolas Jaar. He collaborates in other projects like CasaNegra, Ser Humano and Extraperrestre. His live acts are multifaceted; one or two instruments, live looping and improvisation, alone or with other musicians. As a DJ and Selector he likes to mix different genres like Hip-hop, Funk, Jazz, Latin, House and Techno.
