About Husky

There are at least eight bands / artists called Husky 1. Husky is an indie folk band from Melbourne, Australia, established in 2007 and fronted by Husky Gaweda. The band's first album. Quiet Little Rage (2008), was self-released under the radar, so that 2011's Forever So may be regarded as their 'official' début album on a label. Three more studio albums followed: Ruckers Hill (2014), Punchbuzz (2017) and Stardust Blues (2020). Line-up: Husky Gawenda, Gideon Preiss, Jules Pascoe and Holly Thomas. 2. Husky (real name: Dmitry Nikolayevich Kuznetsov, born 10 Febryuaru 1993 in Irkutsk, Russia) is a Russian rapper (Husky in Russian is Хаски), who are up in Ulan-Ude before moving to Moscow at age 15. He wanted to become a journalist, but found himself at the state TV, working as a censor for televised content. As a reaction he became politically involved and started going to opposition protests which were part of the Snow Revolution (2011-2013), a three-year period of concurrent demonstrations against the government. As a rapper he is known for his somber, sophisticated and evocative lyricism and complex rhyming schemes. He released three studio albums: сбчь жзнь (or Dog's Life, 2013), Любимые песни (воображаемых) людей (or Favorite Songs of (Imaginary) People, 2017) and Хошхоног (or Xoshkhonog, 2020). 3. Husky is a downtempo electronic duo from Poland, consisting of Patrycja Hefczynska (vocalist/writer) and Jacek Dojwa (composer/producer). Their music is influenced by such artists as Björk, Craig Armstrong, Amon Tobin and Portishead. They released two albums: Czy słyszysz? (English: Do you hear, 2002) and Zgadnij (English: Guess, 2006). The band split up in 2009 to pursue other projects. 4. Watch Husky Burn is a Charlotte, NC, United States-based instrumental rock band made up of Mark Hadden (bass), Phil Strickland (guitar) and Nate Wilkinson (drums). From its inception in 2000 to around 2012 the band was simply called Husky. Under this moniker they released two albums: Circle the Wagons (2006) and The Sea King (2008). Their groove rock, echoing bluesy twang and swirling psychedelia with driving Southern grit appealed to classic rock and stoner rock aficionados. 5. Husky was a pop group from the 'Gooi' region in the central Netherlands. The group was founded as early as 1965, but their first record released were in the early seventies. They are best known for two singles that hit #14 in the Dutch charts in 1975: 'Song Of Praise' and 'Give It Up', whereas 'Little Line Linda' (1976) hit #19 in the Dutch charts. The group also performed as the backing band of Dutch singers such as Robert Long and Wally Tax, before folding in early 1977. 6. Husky is a five-piece band from Monterrey, Mexico. The quintet began jamming in an abandoned house in the suburbs of the city and began creating catchy tunes with reverb (thanks to the empty house). They decided to start playing live in Monterrey, and got the chance to play in some of Monterrey most prominent venues, before the drug war devastated the city’s live music scene. Still, Husky managed to keep playing and touring. During summer 2012 they spent a month doing a residence in New York. They shared stages with some of Mexico biggest bands like Kinky and Pxndx, as well as with international band such as Washed Out, Empire of the Sun and Mystery Jets. Husky released an EP (Weekend Lovers (2011) and a full-length album, Bambino (2012). 7.Alex Nutting a.k.a. Husky is a future garage producer. His 'Transition One' EP was released for free via Atlanta, GA, United States-based web label, Zip Sound Recordings. 8. husky (in Japanese: ハスキー) is a Japanese all-girl pop group from Osaka, based in the Kansai area. The group was formed in July 2017 and their concept is "cool and cute".
