About HERMANAS AGUILA

Las Hermanas Águila (The Aguila Sisters) are Maria Esperanza (the brunette) and Maria Paz Villalobos Eagle (The blonde), were a beautiful and fine duet from Guadalajara, Mexico which initially sang ranchera in the early 30s at Teatro Degollado. Through (XEW) radio they became known even outside their own country. Named "Best Duet of America" by Gonzalo Curiel they interpreted beautiful songs of the Romantic composers such as Don Agustín Lara, Gabriel Ruiz, Los Hermanos Dominguez, Maria Grever, Consuelo Velázquez, among others. During her career one sister, Maria Esperanza went on to act under the name of Gaby Paz Dalt and delighted us with her partner Eduardo Solis in duets under the name of Dueto Columbia, but never stopped singing as Las Hermanas Aguila. Maria Paz, died at the age of 92 in March 2004 and had already see the passing of Maria Esperanza in 1991.
