About Gertrud Stein

GERTRUD STEIN (CH/UK) Is the visual art & electro music project of the London based Swiss artist Gertrud Stein who drew our attention with her contribution to the Daft Records compilation Deep and her subsequent successful, stunning and enchanting performance at the Daft Festival in Antwerp (2017). Crazy minimal electro-synth melodies in a pure German style. Gertrud started it in her bedroom with the cover of Tanze Samba mit mir, after the unearthing of her old post-punk tapes following a particularly cheesy disco night. Her discography includes Untitled album, published in 2010 for Urgence Disk Records; EP's Daytime TV, published for Hertzschnitt in 2009 and Blümchen, published in 2010 for Hertz-Schrittmacher. Her two latest releases are self-released recordings: Compilation titled as Restbestand from 2016, includes six previously released songs among them hits such as U-Bahn, Total Normal and Zusammen. And also self-released newest MOONLANDINGS EP published in summer of 2018, including four completely new songs. Getrud Stein's live shows with her virtual live band members Mike Line, Tom Delay and Diana D.I. are not to be missed! More about Gertrud you can find on her Bandcamp and Facebook pages.
