About Gammacide

Gammacide was an American thrash metal band from Arlington, Texas, associated with the late 1980s and early 1990s wave of thrash metal. Known for their aggressive and energetic musical style, their sound was in line with many contemporaries in the genre. Their lyrics often addressed social and environmental issues relevant at the time. Following the band's initial activity, guitarist Rick Perry went on to form the industrial metal band Puncture. Vocalist Varnam Ponville and guitarist Scott Shelby relocated to Louisiana, where they later formed a band called Cauldron, which released an album titled "For the Love of Pain" in 1997. In 2004, Gammacide briefly reunited to record two new tracks. These songs were included in the CD re-release of their only full-length album, "Victims of Science."
