About Fargo

1) A hardcore band from germany with that "bremen" sound similar to Acme, Systral and Carol. They've released a demo 3"CD titled "wessen leben", a 7" titled "Zug um Zug" split released on Adagio 830 and still.leben.records and a CD/tape titled "flucht nach vorn" on builtonfriendship-records (cd), gafas del rigor (tape) and desordre odorne (canadian tape version) fargo was: leander, sven, daniel & phil (2009) / jannik (2010). last concert on the "cry me a river" festival 2010. http://fargo.blogsport.de www.myspace.com/fargopunx 2) Salt Lake City-based psych-pop duo Fargo teamed Tony Decker and Dean Wilden. After debuting in 1968 with the Capitol single "Robins, Robins," the pair signed with RCA; when their 1969 LP I See It Now--arranged by Al Capps, best known for his work with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others--met with virtually no commercial recognition, Fargo dissolved. 3) After years of non-stop gigging with New York-based band "Candy's Room", Jenny Gallagher, a burnt-out, emotional wreck, decided to follow the footsteps of Mike Scott & The Waterboys and retreat to the tranquil village of An Spidéal in the West of Ireland. Meanwhile, Shane McCarron, unwilling to accept the artistic direction of Kinlough based "McGurrin McCarron McGurrin", picked up his guitar and followed a musical path that would take him through Israel, New York, Switzerland and home again to Ireland. A chance meeting with Gallagher in Galway in April 2001 led to the formation of the band that would eventually become FARGO. Their early gigs, playing under the name Sióg, were acoustic and raw but even in those early days, the signature sound of FARGO was evident. They moulded and experimented with that sound, bringing it from its acoustic guitar roots to its current fuller form. These travelling players bring the poetry of Dylan and the passion of Springsteen to the people of the West of Ireland. 4) Fargo was a Melodic Rock / Metal band from Germany. Founded in 1973, they recorded 4 albums (Wishing Well, No Limit, Frontpage Lover, and F). Shortly after the last album's release, the band members parted ways. Some of them would go on to form Victory. 5) Fargo was an Italian emo / indie band from Pordenone, Italy. During their short existence, they self-released 300 copies of their self-titled 7" record and eventually released, "A Record That Was Never Made", a record containing their unreleased songs they recorded back in 2000. - http://itsallaboutturningsouth.blogspot.com/2010/03/when-kids-go-indie-pop-fargo-escargot.html 6) An indie rock band from Geneva, IL. http://soundcloud.com/ryan-thomas 7) A four piece Post Rock band from Leipzig, Germany.
