About Fabrique

Fabrique was a short-lived German synthpop band of the 80s made up of Uwe Gronau, Ansgar Üffink, and Michael Hoeing. Coming from the city of Bocholt in North Rhine-Westphalia, they're known today for their dark and mellow new wave song "Trenchcoat Man", featuring a interesting mix of male and female vocals as well as a mix of German singing with English and French singing. Such a unique combination has appealed to many listeners. Yet after a burst of popularity coming from that 1987 single, the group soon folded as band members persuaded other projects.
