About The Extremes

There are at least two bands named The Extremes: 1. The Extremes were Simon Baughen and Jerome Clough, right of picture. Primarily a recording band, they released: 'Eat My Dust' 45 in 1987 and 'Car Crash Music' 12" in 1988. 'Save me from the sun' appeared in 1989 as the B side to 'Scratch that Lightning', a 45 by Simon Baughen and the Extremists. Chris and Justine, left of picture, augmented the band for their debut gig, the infamous Rock Garden gig in May 1988. Simon Baughen now plays bass in Indigo Club and six of their songs have just been uploaded on to Last FM. One of these will be uploaded onto the Extremes page soon, along with 'Neutral Tones' a 1991 release by Simon Baughen, using words from Thomas Hardy's poem of that name (now out of copyright). 2. The Extremes were a 1960s soul group whose records gained some popularity in the northern soul era.
