About Ewert Sundja

Ewert Sundja, born in 1983 in Tallinn, is an Estonian musician and singer-songwriter, best known for being the frontman of Ewert and The Two Dragons. Sundja formed his first band The Provokers in 1998, which became successful in the Estonian christian contemporary music scene. In 2002 he formed his second band Precious that played Ewert's original music in a jazzy key. The next year Ewert won a singing contest (similar to IDOLS) organized by the Estonian National Television. After that, Precious was replaced by Ewert Sundja Jazzband that played mostly jazz standards and pop music in a groovy and jazzy way. During that last period he also gave a couple of intimate concerts simply with the piano and his voice. In November 2004, still in search for the best musical output, he met Joel and Ott, old family friends, and the jam sessions at the drummers place (Thief's first drummer Joel Võsu), where they started playing music Ewert was writing at the time, and also some songs from his previous projects, ended up being the start of a new band called Ewert Sundja & Thief.
