About Emily Joy
Emily is a native of Traverse City, MI and recorded Dot of Blue in the summer of 2002. She studied classical piano from the age of 6 and grew up surrounded by the music and vocalists of contemporary Christian worship. Her classical studies broadened into composition after being introduced to artists like Tori Amos, Aimee Mann, and Fiona Apple. The sad, lilting melodies on this album are reminiscent of the Lake Michigan waters and the mellow moods of the Bay.
