Edith Márquez born January 27, 1973 is a Mexican singer and actress. She is a dramatic mezzo-soprano. She was born in Mexico City. En 1998 debuta por todo lo alto con su primer disco como solista titulado "FRENTE A TI", del cual se desprendieron grandes éxitos como “Mi error, mi fantasía”, “Mírame” y “Por hablarle de ti”. El éxito fue total, más de 250 mil copias lo avalaban y la entrega de un Disco de Oro de las manos de la gran cantante española Rocío Dúrcal, hacían que Edith se posicionara en un lugar muy importante dentro de la música en español. En el 2000 lanza su segundo material discográfico llamado “CARICIAS DEL CIELO”, el cual incluyó éxitos como “Acostúmbrame al cielo”, “Nubes negras” y “Esta vez”. Al año siguiente aparece su tercer álbum con el nombre de “EXTRAVÍATE”, del cual se escucharon canciones como “Mi nombre” y el que daba título al disco. En septiembre del 2001 sale al mercado su cuarto disco “¿QUIÉN TE CANTARÁ?”, para el cual trabajó al lado del talentoso compositor español Juan Carlos Calderón. En él interpretó temas clásicos del maestro así como dos hermosas canciones inéditas, “Enamorada” y “El primero, el único, el último”, los cuales este grande de la música compuso especialmente para ella. En el 2004 ofrece un gran concierto en el Teatro Metropólitan, el cual resulta todo un acontecimiento por su emotividad y es grabado para ser lanzado posteriormente como DVD. En el 2005 sale a la venta su quinta producción discográfica titulada “CUANDO GRITA LA PIEL” y en el 2007 se edita un nuevo disco inédito bajo el nombre de “MEMORIAS DEL CORAZÓN”. En el 2008 Edith Márquez realizó el álbum “PASIONES DE CABARET”, una gran selección de 11 éxitos que han marcado diferentes momentos de la música, revestidos de una atmósfera mágica a través de los arreglos y sonidos musicales que daban vida a los cabarets en Latinoamérica en su época de oro. En el 2009 la intérprete presentó su álbum “DUELE”. De esta producción se desprendieron los sencillos “Me voy”, “Que Corra el Aire” y “El último beso”, temas completamente inéditos bajo la producción de Armando Ávila. En 2012 Edith Márquez inició una nueva etapa con la experiencia de una sólida trayectoria y el entusiasmo del primer día; presentó el álbum “AMAR NO ES SUFICIENTE” que llegó a Disco de Oro a su salida; más tarde lanzó a la venta, en formato DOBLE CD + DVD y Blu-Ray, el gran concierto que ofreció en el Auditorio Nacional, a su máxima capacidad. En este 2013 la artista lanza su décimo disco en solitario dando muestras de su experiencia y cualidades vocales, pues por primera vez graba temas bajo el género ranchero. El resultado de esta gran producción es “EMOCIONES”, CD+DVD que nos hará revivir grandes épocas a través de un ramillete de estupendas canciones, trayéndolas a la época actual en la voz de una mujer que sabe transmitir las más profundas “Emociones”.
