About Dean Watson
I guess my mother was a musical influence for me. When I was very young she would play ( or try to ) such hits as "Purvis Boogie" and "Peg of my Heart" and I was intrigued by the sound of the piano. I started to pick it up and my Dad suggested lessons. I progressed with lessons for 9 years and at that time I felt I was proficient enough to continue on my own. I had already started learning improvisational jazz on both guitar and piano. In my 20's I formed a progressive rock band called AirKraft. It was during this time I met Barry Connors - who ended up being our drummer. I have since toured Canada playing in the June Garba Band, and also had a brief stint with Dennis De'Sousa ( Latin ).
