About Daphne
There are at least 4 artists named “Daphne” : 1. Daphne ( age 20 ) is widely known for her ambient-based excentric music. While she has only been ‘creating’ since 2010, her tracks are loved by many for the simple but strong sounds in her work, the smooth edginess and flowing features. Originating from the far south-west of Holland, Daphne quickly moved to Rotterdam to indulge herself in the local underground techno and minimal scene. Althought the dockworking mentallty is prevalant in her sound resulting in harsh beats and deep baselines, one can still hear vague hints of the beach life she grew up in, giving her sound a more smooth and accecable groove. By many she is compated to the likes of Extrawelt, Moderat, Paul Kalkbrenner and Plastikman. Although these comparisons are spot on, she is always three steps ahead of the scene proven by her own unique and distinct sound. 2. Daphne is a French singer who released her first album in 2005. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphn%C3%A9_(chanteuse) 3. Daphne is a British sketch comedy trio consisting of Phil Wang, George Fouracres & Jason Forbes. Together they are the creators, writers and stars of the BBC Radio 4 series Daphne Sounds Expensive. 4. DAPHNE is a 22-year-old Canadian indie-pop singer-songwriter based in Vaughan, Ontario. She started releasing music is 2023 but has been writing since she was six years old. In 2025 she won the Garage Band People's Choice Contest at NXNE.
