About Cole Powell

Cole Powell is an American singer-songwriter from Jayess, Mississippi, best known for his 2011 debut album, "Thanks for the Broken Heart." The album marked his entry into the professional music scene and was well-received by critics. A multi-instrumentalist, Cole Powell plays a style that blends rock, pop, blues, country, folk, and a touch of jazz (according to critics). He collaborated with experienced musicians and producers from the regional music scene for his debut and garnered international attention in indie magazines and music blogs. Cole Powell has released three albums, two EPs, and a compilation. However, in 2016, he largely withdrew from performing live for a period of time. In 2025, Cole Powell returned to the public eye with the album "The Social Distance." The album, or songs from it, received several nominations and awards at the 2025 Josie Music Awards
