About Clever Austin
Clever Austin is the alias of Perrin Moss, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist and producer, best known for being the drummer/percussionist for the Australian jazz-funk/soul band Hiatus Kaiyote. In 2013, he released his debut project Hide-Away Headshell - Mixtape #1, following it up with the second volume two years later. In March 2019, Clever Austin released his debut album Pareidolia, featuring guest appearances from Jon Bap, Laneous, Cazeeaux O.S.L.O and Georgia Anne Muldrow. He later followed this up in November 2019 with the instrumental mixtape NUNU, a showcase of the producer's experimentation with guitar and piano. In January 2021, Clever Austin and fellow percussionist Greg Sheehan released a collaborative project called Found Heads, Vol. 1; which was recorded over a "marathon day-long session" in November 2018.
