There are at least three artists that go by Nesta: 1. Nesta is an alternative R&B artist based in Queens, NYC. 2. Nesta is the moniker of Nabih Esta, a house DJ based in Beirut, Lebanon. 3. The Nesta collective is led by Jake Ferguson, the inspired writer who has been the driving force behind the underground deep funk smash hit band the Soul Destroyers (also on Stark Reality). Collaborators include Baz Bayley, Mike Burnham of Tardis Studios and Mo Wax' legendary funk drummer Malcolm Catto. Influences range from artists such as blues guitarists Albert Collins and Mel Brown; Captain Beefheart gets a mention as do jazz legends Kenny Clarke and Francy Boland, soundscape afficionados Ennio Morricone and David Axelrod and of course, Sun Ra. Inspired by their non-stop journey into the space-time-reflex, Nesta musicians are continuously working on a variety of sounds, so expect more sonic utterings soon! 4. Nesta is a Norwegian singer-songwriter from Tysnes.
