About Bill Mize

Awards Bill Mize is a past winner of the National Fingerstyle Guitar Competition in Winfield, Kansas, and a contributing artist for the Windham Hill Guitar Sampler. His piece, The Road Scholar was featured on "The Masters of The Acoustic Guitar" recording recently released on Narada Records. Bill's guitar playing can also be heard on the Grammy-winning recording Stellaluna Releases Bill has four independent releases: His first, Sugarlands, which is all solo acoustic guitar, Tender Explorations with appearances by Martha Jacobs on cello and Ed Gerhard on guitar, Coastin' which features Martha Jacobs on cello, with performances by Kenny Malone on percussion and Edgar Strubble on Hammond B-3, and his newest release, Joyful Noise, which features Mize on acoustic and electric guitar with appearances by Steve Conn on Hammond B-3, Richard Ostheimer on congas, and Beth Bramhall on accordion, "This is my most ambitious project yet and the first to be recorded at my own studio, Alien Mojo Productions in Pittman Center, Tennessee"...comments Bill. Bill is featured in the John August Music and Mel Bay guitar books,Winfield Winners, Pierre Bensusan's DADGAD Music, and the transcription of his CD Tender Explorations for Guitars.
